Mumbai, India. August 6, 2018 - Dr. Rajesh Singh, Managing Director of thinkstep Sustainability Solutions Pvt Limited, a subsidiary of thinkstep AG in Germany, has accepted the nomination by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Quality Forum to join the Scientific Committee of the Indian Life Cycle Management (ILCM) conference. The FICCI is a non-profit association with over a quarter of a million participating businesses. Dr. Singh will be joining other prominent Scientific Committee members, such as Dr. Matthias Finkbeiner, ISO/Technical University of Berlin; Dr. Henry King, Unilever and Dr. Shabbir H. Gheewala, from The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment in India.
As a member of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Singh will help guide the annual event, including its topics and guests, and evaluate the various articles that are submitted, and will support future Indian policies on product sustainability. The Quality Forum of FICCI, is closely involved in capability development on LCA and engaging with governmental on LCA’s importance and enabling it for policy decisions. With a PhD. in sustainability management, Dr. Singh has been working in life cycle assessment for over 25 years, 17 of which was spent working in the steel industry. He joined the thinkstep team in 2008, helping to found its subsidiary in Mumbai. “I’m looking forward to creating value for industry in India by helping to apply Life Cycle Management practices and contribute to whatever sustainability insights I can,” said Dr. Singh.
The next conference will take place in Mumbai on the 4th and 5th of October this year. The seventh edition of ILCM (ILCM 2018) will focus on how Life Cycle knowledge helps to classify, identify, innovative and apply sustainability content.
